The PADI Deep Diver Course:
After your first few scuba dives, you soon want to explore a bit deeper. There’s something exciting and mysterious about the depth that attracts dives.The fun part about this course is the opportunity to explore the deep. It’s exhilarating.

To enroll in the PADI Deep Diver course, you must:
Be 15 years or older
Have a PADI Adventure Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)

Plus £20 certification free on completition

What you learn:

  • Techniques for diving in the deeper range of 18-40 metres/ 60-130 feet
  • Deep scuba diving equipment considerations
  • Experience in planning, organizing and making at least fout deep dives under the supervision of your PADI Instructor

The learning materials you will need:
PADI’s Deep Diver crewpak (DVD and manual) provides a thorough overview of the principles and techniques needed to complete the PADI Deep Diver specialty. In addition to previewing skills you’ll practice with your instructor, the materials serve as a reference guide for deep diving in a variety of conditions and environments. You’ll also find the answers to common questions such as :

The scuba gear you will need:
You use all the basic scuba gear including a dive computer, some accessories and most likely a dive light

Your next adventure?
Many shipwrecks are often found in deeper water. That’s why the PADI Deep Diver course is a natural companion to the PADI Wreck Diver course. Sometimes you can take these two specialties concurrently.

Why PADI Deep Diver?

The Deep Diver Specialty course offers you the opportunity of a lifetime - going deep to see thing others can only dream about.
 This is a great Hands on course and the start of  safely exploring the limits of recreational Diving.
 Recommended especially to those wishing to progress to Divemaster and
Master Scuba Diver  or who wish to explore Dorset's off-shore dives

What do I need to start?

  • PADI Advanced Open Water  course (or qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 15 years old
  • If you Completed your AOW with TAL you are already on your way to Deep adventure
    as the AOW Deep dive counts as Dive one of this speciality

What will I do?
      
You'll learn deep dive:

  • Planning, organization,
  • Procedures, techniques and hazards.
  • Practice emergency techniques
  • Equipment recommended for deeper diving
  • The effect Depth has on Objects and colour as we dive deeper
  • You'll also put this knowledge to the test as you go on four open water dives that range from 18 - 40 metres

How long will it take?

  • Recommended Course Hours: 24
  • Minimum Open Water Training: four dives over two days
  • Dive costs are not included in the course price as there are various options

  • Deep Diver DVD  rental with option to buy
  • on completion there is a fee for certification

Where can I go from here?

 We dive plenty of sites out of Christchurch/Mudeford Quay off our Dive Boat DSV Vixen where the skills and knowledge from this course will enhance your Dive even shallower than 30m

  • The Kyarra (32m) one of the most dived wrecks on the south coast you can however still find your self alone with your buddy
  • The Borgny  (32m)  a spectacular site with its massive propeller still intact
  • IOW Dumping Grounds  Deep Drift

. This Specialty course certification also counts as one of five Specialty certifications required for Master Scuba Diver certification.
