The Umarex RP5 Airgun series

Gun Industry innovation - Every year something new - Umarex RP5

The thing I love most about the gun industry is the innovation that manufacturers bring to the table each and every year. One of the things I've been secretly wanting to take a look at is the Umarex RP5 series of Pistol / Carbines. One of the immediate things you will notice on these, is the lack of a bolt, side-lever or under-lever for cocking purposes. That's because the RP5 uses a unique pump style cocking action, that drives a spring-loaded 5 shot harmonica magazine. After loading up 5 pellets into the magazine, it's fitted into the action of the gun (a single shot tray can be used here instead of course). The pump action indexes the magazine and cocks the airgun (single action), ready for firing. It's a simple system that works as fast as you can!

Umarex truly ambidextrous Pistol and Carbine the RP5

The grip texturing and angle of the pistol grip is a natural angle for most shooters, and the lack of a bolt or lever means that each model of RP5 is truly ambidextrous (I know we have a fair few left-handed shooters among our readers) which should make this an appealing bit of kit. The beaver tail (shown above) doesn't feel un-natural with or without the carbine stock and doesn't feel "slippy" despite the finish of the grip. The pump itself also has enough indents on it to work smoothly without looking overly chunky or our of place. Take a look at this video from Umarex (who can show you far better than I can explain) and you'll see that not only is the RP5 a unique concept at this point for it's action, but that you can make your own one-of-a-kind rifle thanks to the wide range of add-ons available to customise it!

Umarex RP5 system - Pistol or Carbine - So many Options

You can change the barrels and calibres, chose from a .177 (4.5mm) or .22 (5.5mm) option. You can have a threaded barrel and silencer or remove the threaded adaptor for a non threaded barrel. Use a 5 shot magazine or single shot tray, choose between a pistol or carbine by adding or removing the stock. Vary your shot count by using 1 or 2 x 12g Co2 Capsules, fit picatinny sight rails to Co2 cap or to the receiver, for scope, sights, torches, lasers and more...

Umarex RP5 system features

The Umarex RP5 is a unique airgun that embodies more than 45 years of experience in the development and manufacture of airguns. A CO2-powered pump-action airgun, powered by one or two 12 g CO2 cylinders / sparklets  in the Co2 piercing unit. Pellets are loaded into the barrel from a spring loaded harmonica magazine or from the single shot tray with a simple pumping movement. This is a new feature that increases the firing rate and, with a muzzle energy up to 11 Joules, ensures plenty of fun. The design makes the RP5 ambidextrous and at 1.3 kg, is neither too light nor too heavy for an airgun of it's length. “Limitations” are not in the vocabulary of the RP5 as there are a number of top-rails, barrel shrouds, muzzle devices and add-ons that can let you make your own one-of-a-kind airgun. Purchase with or without the detachable stock. See the option below.

  • Magazine capacity: 5 shot(s) or single shot tray
  • Energy: < 11 Joule(s)
  • Trigger: Single Action
  • Length: 752 mm
  • Weight: 1300 g

What is the total cost of every accessory for this gun?

That's a difficult question to answer as there are a HUGE number of combinations available for the RP5, some of which won't fit unless others are removed.
